Bridging to Solana
Blockchains operate with their own rules, consensus mechanisms, and token standards and can't communicate with each other. That's where cross-chain bridges come in. Bridges enable the transfer of assets and information from one chain to another, allowing you to move your tokens to any chain you'd like.

Solana has some great bridging options. Here are a couple that will help you move your tokens to and from Solana as easily as possible.
deBridge
deBridge stands out from other cross-chain bridges because it allows you to bridge AND swap tokens in a single transaction. For example, you can transfer $ETH from Ethereum to $SOL on Solana in a few clicks. This makes it super easy to ensure you always have the tokens you need to pay gas fees.

You can follow these steps to bridge tokens to Solana:

Connect the wallet that currently holds the tokens you wish to transfer to deBridge (top right of the screen)

Select the token and amount you'd like to bridge

Select the destination blockchain and token you'd like to receive

If you are bridging to Solana, paste your Solana wallet address into the field "recipients Solana address"

Click "Confirm Trade"

Confirm the transaction with your wallet. Some blockchains require you to confirm the transaction twice.

Portal (Wormhole)
Portal's best feature is the number of blockchains it integrates. Portal allows you to bridge between over two dozen blockchains, and more are being added constantly, so if you are trying to bridge from a less prevalent chain to Solana, Portal might be the way to go.

Portal is built on the wormhole, a cross-chaining bridging protocol that uses the burn-and-mint bridging method. This process involves locking the original asset on the source blockchain and minting an equivalent wrapped asset on the target blockchain. Once the bridge is completed, you can swap the wrapped asset for a different token.
Wormhole recently integrated with Circle and now allows you to swap USDC stablecoin across different blockchains without incurring platform fees. However, you'll still need to pay gas fees.

NOTE: If you use Portal and the transaction fails to complete, you can finish the bridge by clicking "Resume Transaction" and inputting the "source chain transaction hash." You can find that hash by pasting your wallet address into https://wormholescan.io/
Find My Bridge
Between deBridge and Portal, your bridging needs should be covered, but if there is a chain neither can reach, you can check on Find My Bridge to see if a different option might work.
